Hello! Welcome to my corner of the web. I’m Alejandro Lorite Mora, a PhD Student at IT University of Copenhagen with a deep passion for robotics and a drive to improve lives through technology. I believe in constant growth, embracing new challenges, and the joy of tinkering.
I am very aware that most software engineers have personal websites, so I wanted to make mine a bit different by sharing not only my professional background but also my interests, passions, and the little things that make life enjoyable. I also know from experience that documentation is often overlooked, so I aim to improve on that front by taking notes on Obsidian and sharing my learnings with you.
About Me
Born in Bilbao, Spain, my journey has taken me from playing football and making videogames as a child to exploring diverse cultures and diving deep into the world of robotics. My time in Canada at 15 sparked a lifelong passion for programming, being a maker, and traveling. I define myself by my commitment to Mise en place and always choosing paths that foster personal and professional growth. I’m driven by an insatiable curiosity and a desire to have a meaningful impact.
Interests & Passions
My core interests revolve around:
- Robotics: Especially Quadruped robots, Drones, and Multi-Robot Systems (MRS). I’m particularly fascinated by Cognitive robotics and the ethical implications of engineering and robotics.
- Learning & Exploration: I love diving into new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies. The pursuit of efficiency and the joy of tinkering are central to my approach.
- Humanities: I find inspiration in Anthropology + philosophy.
- Languages: I speak Spanish, Basque, English, and French.
- Art & Culture: From the works of Hokusai and Picasso to the narratives of Studio Ghibli films and books like “The Little Prince”.
- Music: I enjoy playing the drums, piano, and ukelele, and listening to artists like Vanic, ODESZA, and Galantis.
- Gaming: A lifelong enthusiast, from Pokemon and Mario Bros to League of Legends and Stardew Valley.
- Travel: Discovering how other cultures live is a significant part of who I am.
Small Pleasures
Life’s simple joys keep me grounded: feeling the sun on my face, the vastness of the sea, beautiful sunsets, hot showers, and spending quality time with friends and loved ones.
My Professional Journey
I’m currently pursuing an Industrial PhD at the IT University of Copenhagen, focusing on active inspections using quadruped robots and aerial drones. My goal is to become a great PhD student, continuously learning about new technologies like the Boston Dynamics Spot Robot and contributing to open-source projects.

About This Website
This website is built using Obsidian and Quartz. It hosted on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M720Q running Docker containers using Coolify on Linux. I have modified a few Quartz features to better suit my needs, such as adding a Tag Explorer panel, enabling Giscus comments, auto generating collection pages for movies and other media, and more.
One of the coolest ways of finding interesting notes on this website is through the Graph View on the right sidebar. It provides a visual representation of how my notes are interconnected, making it easier to explore related topics and discover new insights. By default, it shows only the notes that are directly linked to the current page, but you can click on the small top-right icon to expand the view and see all notes in my vault.
Other ways to explore the content are through the Recent Notes panel on the left sidebar, the Tag Explorer panel on the left sidebar, the Search functionality, or by browsing through the different Collections I have created (such as List of research (conference papers, journal articles, etc) I have consumed)
Contact
I have an open-door policy for collaboration, questions, or just a friendly chat about robotics, technology, or any of my interests. Feel free to reach out!
I have enabled comments on this website using Giscus, so you can leave your thoughts or questions there as well.
You can find my contact information on the footer of every page, but here it is again for your convenience :)
